Stay fresh: appreciate some amazing Benoo dips
Lately we learnt in an article from The Guardian that many items including sauces were facing shortages due to the heatwave.
Why not making your own climate-friendly dip?
Benoo have selected for you some creative and local dips to spice up your summer dishes.

Spicy currants dip
Ingredients: 150g Currants, 80g Onion, 1 tablespoon of frying oil, 1 pinch of chilli, 1 ½ tbs.p sugar, 1 tsp flour, 1 pinch of salt, 1 pinch of fennel seed
Preparation: Wash and remove the stems from the currants and finely chop the onions. Heat the frying oil, fry the sugar, the chilli and the fennel seeds in it. Now add the onions. When the onions are translucent, add the currants and simmer for 3-5 minutes. Mix the flour with a little water and add to thicken the dish. Finally, add salt.

Vegan mayonnaise
Ingredients: 50g of sunflower seeds, Rapeseed oil (the amount necessary to make the mayo thick and smooth), 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 of sugar, 12 tablespoons of water
Preparation: Grind the sunflower seeds with water in the blender. During the blending, add the amount of oil you find necessary so that it turns into a smooth thick paste. Take the mayo out of the blender, add the vinegar, the salt, and the sugar. Stir and put it in the fridge till serving.

Tzatziki
Ingredients: Half a cucumber, 250 g quark (20 % fat), 1 clove garlic, 5 stalks dill, 1 tbsp. salad oil, 2 pinches of Salt, 1 pinch of pepper, 1 tbsp. apple vinegar
Preparation: Grate the cucumber roughly, add the salt, mix it with your hands. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it sweats. In the meantime, cut the garlic by hand or crush it with a mincer. Take the dill from the stalks and cut it roughly. Squeeze the cucumber with your hands to get rid of excess liquid. Mix it with the quark, dill and the garlic in a bowl, season with salt, pepper, apple vinegar and salad oil to your taste.
