A Benoo internship review
During 2 months, we had the pleasure to welcome Mathilde in our team. She has been shared her experience with us. If you ever wonder how was it like to work at Benoo, have a look at her review:
I recently carried out an 8-week internship at Benoo, which is a German start-up specialised in food-tech. Indeed, Benoo commercialises weekly “recipe boxes” with local and seasonal ingredients to inspire people to be more sustainable.
This internship gave me the opportunity to apply professional skills acquired during my 2-year course in International Business in Nantes (France).
During this 2-month internship, I contacted businesses thanks to a client acquisition that I drove, I looked after Too Good To Go and Benoo’s customers (B2C) and participated in client’s workshops.
I became more and more professional at creating professional files; market intelligence, feedback of events (Sommerkonferenz, surveys of workshops), prospect file (database on Excel) and I now master the IT tools better (Excel, Power Point, Word).
I participated in the team meetings, which was the opportunity to share my opinions, visions and advice, listen to other team members’ opinions, debate on different topics and further projects of the company. I have learnt how important it was to voice my ideas, which enabled me to be more responsible and reliable within the team.
Furthermore, this experience in a start-up taught me to be more open-minded and learn good manners and interpersonal skills.
Indeed, I learnt how to control my emotions and to be diplomatic and polite in order not to hurt someone’s feelings. I realised how much mutual aid and team-spirit were important, because everyone must be able to count on someone.
Moreover, living abroad strengthened my English and my German, which allows me to be more communicative.
I was very grateful to take part in the food strategy conference at Urania Berlin (Sommerkonferenz). I became more aware of environmental and food challenges in Germany. It was really interesting and inspiring to listen to political and change actors tackling social and ecological issues. This experience strengthened my personal convictions, and more especially my willingness to continue to fight against climate change, plastic use and CO2-emissions.
Finally, I discovered the Berlin lifestyle and the food habits and some famous German dishes. I have learnt more about the German culture and history linked to the cold war background.
